Attributes held within the GIS graphical data base are entered by GIS personnel utilizing manual or semi-automated methods. Check plots are produced periodically to verify the consistency of the source data. Attributes produced by the Ramsey County Records and Revenue Department such as names, taxpayers, values etc., are not created or managed by GIS personnel. This information is extracted separately and in most cases joined to the graphical GIS parcel data set. This data set has not been verified by GIS personnel.
Graphical elements are topologically clean. Over shoots and undershoots are not permitted. Parcel gaps and overlaps are analyzed in a case by case basis. Generally boundaries conflicting in position by less than 1 foot are dissolved into a single line giving precedence to Senior and Junior property boundaries
Entire Ramsey County Coverage
Digitized information is generally +/- 7 feet; some areas have been found to be +/- 30 feet. COGO (coordinate geometry) accuracy generally is +/- 1.0 foot.
Points are created based on school addresses. Locations are verified using School District websites and Department of Education information. Attributes are populated from a variety of sources both state and local.
